Artist Statement: I try to capture ordinary things in a loving way. This activity of stopping and paying attention has changed me. Taking pictures gets me down on my knees to capture a spider web; gets me off the path, into the mud to look more closely at mushrooms; opens my eyes to an abundance of texture, light and color in the world around us. The pictures I take always surprise me and have been pure gifts to me. I take joy in sharing these surprises.

Bio: I am an artist/homemaker living in Niles. MI. I am a graduate of Alma College with a background in elementary education and art. I've taken classes at South Bend Art Center, Buchanan Art Center and Fernwood Botanical Gardens in Buchanan. I have worked with several kinds of media , including watercolor, mosaics and collage .
