I spent years aiming to make photographs that reproduce reality as literally as possible. Now I want to risk moving beyond the literal to explore that deeper reality that brings the world to life. The metaphor of life as a journey is an old one, and complex intersections can represent discernment challenges. So what if the highway was straight and wide and you were the only car on the road?

Bio: Catherine D. Kerr is a photographer, writer, preacher, priest, wife, mother, grandmother, and music lover. Her work is frequently included in exhibitions near her home in Bucks County, PA, including most recently the 2022 Phillips Mill Photography Exhibition and the 2022 Diocesan Invitational Art Exhibit at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral. She has led quiet days on contemplative photography and is a firm believer that all art is spiritual practice. She approaches photography as a discipline of receptivity to God’s light and God’s grace manifest in this world.
