Tree of Life |
Artist Statement: This image was created as part of a workshop on exploring themes of pilgrimage, in this case the journey from the Tree of Eden to the "Tree" of the cross. The paper diptych shows the Tree of Eden with its "apple" when closed, but opens to reveal the Tree of Calvary with the pierced heart of Jesus at its center. Old Adam confronts New Adam in that moment. Bio: Tobias Stanislas Haller BSG retired from full-time ministry after 16 years as Vicar at St James Fordham (Bronx NY).
