Light the Candles, Sing Your Song

Artist Statement: To show up at the easel and make that first mark is like lighting a candle in prayer. My intent may be mixed with many feelings, like when I open the Psalms and discover that my gratitude has shades of regret; or that my lament and grief turns to praise. The gift is in saying YES to the mystery and connectedness of everything and just lighting the candle.

Bio: Jan Ramsey lives in Eureka. CA, the wild northwest where Redwood trees meet ocean. St. Alban’s Arcata is her home church.
