Hummingbirds and Franklin Mountains

Artist Statement: Like all my hummingbird and flower images, the theme is about seeking spiritual food, like a hummingbird seeks nectar. In reflecting on this image I’m struck by the sense if community expressed: I’m in the company of fellow seekers and we are filled with joy just contemplating the source of our nourishment.

Bio: I’ve been drawing and painting since a child, then studied Fine Arts at Galveston College, College of the Mainland, and University of Texas at El Paso. Most of my images involve animals in their native environments and many of them tell spiritual stories or spiritual truths. I’m also a retired nurse and a Texas Master Naturalist.
