One Bread One Body
TECHNIQUES:bread-dough clay building, wood-crafted cruciform |
Artist Statement: Inspired by Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 10:17 "Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread", I created this processional cross for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Rocky Mountain Synod. Originally created to be used in conjunction with a series of One Bread, One Body events held in eight locations within the synod's five-state region, the processional cross continues to be used at synod gatherings as a reminder of our kinship with sisters and brothers around the globe.
