Weeds or Wonder

Photograph

Artist Statement: Dandelions grow anywhere and everywhere, and most people consider them to be weeds. But I find wonder in these humble plants, which exhibit resilience. Their bright yellow flowers signal spring's arrival, and later the seed heads remind me of life's changing seasons of life. This backlit threesome in my backyard reminded me of the Trinity. I often tell myself that the wind is the Holy Spirit. The wind scatters the dandelion seeds just as I can if I blow on them in making a wish to better discern God's will in my life.

Bio: Paula Dittrick is a retired journalist who late last year moved from Houston back to her home state of Nebraska. She stays busy with family and nature, exploring contemplative photography.
