Artist Statement: I am so blessed to work alongside so many loving, witty, caring, public school teachers. I am in awe of how they creatively dance with students who have a patchwork of beliefs, socioeconomic means, ideas, challenges, chatter, untold stories. The teachers just sweep it all up in the rhythm, keeping step to the music with grace, curiosity, generosity, guidance, hope, mercy, and love. I am reminded by them there is plenty of room on the sacred vulnerable Dancefloor for everyone. Bio: Rara lives near the Smoky Mountains with her dear husband Tom of over 40 years. She is a folk artist who is inspired by her family, friends, church community, all the children in her life, and all the furry animals. She is a mother, grandmother, pediatric physical therapist, spiritual director, retreat leader, children’s author and illustrator. |
