For Equilibrium

Like the joy of the sea coming home to shore,
May the relief of laughter rise through your soul.

As wind loves to call things to dance,
May your gravity be lightened by grace.

Growing up along the Texas Gulf Coast, the bottlenose dolphins were my frequent companions as I spent time in the ocean sailing, surfing, and scuba diving. Recently, through my art, I have been exploring my coastal roots, coming home in a sense, where I visited the Texas State Aquarium to see the dolphins up close again. As I watched them move so gracefully through the water, and as I put paint to my canvas, I was reminded of their grace and beauty, and even their sense of humor. They are a gift to all who are fortunate to encounter them.
