Mary, Mary, Had a Little Baby - Madonna
and Child is my salute to the mother and
child. This work also references both
the life of Mary - Annunciation, the
Birth of Jesus, the Flight into Egypt,
the Assumption of the Virgin - and the
artists who have come before me.
Hymn 112 in the Hymnal 1982, In the

there,
cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
but his mother only, in her maiden
bliss,
worshiped the beloved with a kiss.
