Feed My Sheep

An elderly gentleman once said to
me, "I've always believed that you can see the face of God in a
small child."
This child was born, God's gift, on Christmas Day. My family
spent Christmas morning in quietude, cherishing our time
together as labor progressed. Our Christmas child came
peaceably, gently, in the afternoon.
He is a special child, who does not bother keeping step with
other children. He has his own ideas, his own priorities; he
marches to his own drummer. He is without guile. His emotions
are pure; his loyalty is priceless. His imaginings are
beautiful.
Last Christmas Eve, our Christmas child temporarily became a
sheep. He was wholly involved in his sheep-ness: confused, yet
clearly pleased, at being seen as both himself and a sheep by
those around him. On this night, from this little earnest sheep,
shone forth
– I do believe
– the face of Christ. |
