The Rev. Caroline Kramer

Kramer was inspired to paint this picture by the idea of a mother feeding her child. She writes, "Jesus was born to greatness, God incarnate but the reality of that incarnation is moth the mundane and the amazing fact that a mother can nurture and feed an infant. This fact is both routine and miraculous. The incarnation begins a life of apparent contradiction, God being made human, and this simple seems to enter into the complexity of God's act in sending Jesus."

The Rev. Caroline Kramer serves at Christ Church, Pearisburg, Virginia in the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia.
