Artist Statement: This abstract design employs the colors of majestic cottonwoods along Albuquerque’s Rio Grande River dancing against the vivid southwestern sky. During times of increasingly prolonged drought, these trees reach ever deeper into the earth in search of water. For me, they epitomize both the resiliency and the fragility ingredient in God’s creation. Bio: Linda Witte Henke is an artist specializing in the design of work expressive of spirituality and faith. Her work has been displayed in juried solo, group, and invitational exhibitions in Europe, Asia, and North America, where it also resides in corporate, parish, and private collections. Images of her work are frequently published in books, magazines, and journal articles, as well as on websites and in on-line exhibitions.
