Prayers of the People

Nancy Chinn

St. Mark's Cathedral, Minneapolis

After a ten week study of relationships, this prayer canopy was made from pieces of transparent fabrics that each member of the parish used as a prayer cloth, with the intention of leaving some artifact of that prayer on the cloth. They were returned to the church as an offering. Then they were woven together by volunteers and the artist. The final liturgy was an original service of Lessons and Carols held under the canopy.
