Cary Ragland greets each day with a joyful spirit and
a thankful heart. The challenges of a brain injury do
not deter her from living life to the fullest: she paints
daily with great passion, works a job she loves, participates
regularly in church services and activities, volunteers
at a museum, exercises rigorously, and keeps active socially.
Cary considers her family, friends and her beloved dog,
Dolly, to be among her greatest blessings.
Of her ECVA entries, Cary says, “I am inspired to
paint by God. God is why I have so much love in my life.
I truly believe that God is love. These paintings of flowers
and sunshine are about ‘Growth.’ I love to
paint the beauty of the earth.”
Cary’s artwork has been displayed in homes and galleries
across Virginia. Prior to her brain injury, Cary studied
art at the University of Georgia.
