Most of my work is from nature and executed using mixed media on a variety of surfaces. Rather than to replicate what I see, I try to show the way things grow, the inner energy of growing things seeking light. By incorporating non-traditional means of application and media I encourage forms to emerge which need to allow for one another, compensate for and enable one another to exist in order to contribute to the final outcome. My concerns are aesthetic, but it seems to me that this way of growing, indeed creation itself, is the way God enables us to grow as individuals and in community. Each in our varied , individual and precious nature, seeks the light and in the process of growth, being and becoming, we need to allow for one another, compensate for and encourage one another, as, in our brokenness and weakness, we are brought to wholeness and completeness by God's love bringing us into light and life.

Though the works I have selected here were in most cases created to stand on their own, I have paired them in three sets of two paintings each, contrasting the seasons or day and night , as illustrative of my view of the way things grow.
