The Frescos
of St Paul's

In May and June of 2002, internationally known artist Ben Long painted two frescos for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Assisted by Roger Nelson and ECVA artist James Daniel, Long created the frescos on each side of the entrance to the old chapel in the Commons area. On the left is The Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle based on Acts 22:6-11. On the right is Paul in Prison based on Philippians 1:3-8.

St. Paul's parishioner, Mule Ferguson, captured the creation of the frescos as Ben Long and his assistants worked in the traditional technique used by the great Renaissance painters.

The story of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is featured at ECVA in Featured Congregation. To read the story, please click here.
