Corinne Vonaesch

Marie Madeleine

Artist Statement: My activity of artist-painter is an spiritual advance as much as artistic: to paint is for me a meditative act and of interiority which results in a setting into images. Paintings which come out from it, mainly inspired of biblical texts, take part in my personal advance and are traces of faith to the service of a current and renewed iconography.

Bio: Corinne Vonaesch was born in 1970. Her career as an artist-painter began at age 20 and has since brought her to develop a personal pictorial expression. The result is a colorful and contrasting painting, inspired by the surrounding world and the artist's interior representations. An important source of inspiration comes from the texts of the Bible, illustrated in particular by the two series "Colors of the Gospel - The Gospel of John in 21 paintings" and the seven days of Creation (book of Genesis), and followed many other paintings around this theme. Many of these paintings are required to illustrate books, magazines or catechetical materials in several countries.

Since 2004, Corinne Vonaesch has also hosted several creative weekends around a biblical text as part of The Protestant Church of Geneva, in collaboration with pastors
