On The Level

"On the Level": Honest, sincere, straightforward; above board, on the
square, on the up and up.
A level (usually with a bubble gauge) is used to prove horizontals in
foundations, floorings, etc. The level indicates things are as they should
be.
So, "on the level" means a person is as he/she should be, and that they
are truthful.
In our families, our work places, in all our dealings, with God, each
other AND with ourselves, we are called to be as Christ, to seek ways of
justice, truth and righteousness with all people,
to love and serve each other sincerely, with integrity, as we ourselves
would like to be served.
