What If?
Medium: Digital Photograph Artist statement: This photograph was taken while touring through Pompeii this Fall. I was struck by the way the light fell into the room, bathing the woman in white, and I found myself wondering: what would it be like if all the world treasured the divine light so much that they were willing to queue up for it? What if it were this easy to be purified by the Light?... and isn't that what Communion and Advent are all about: waiting for that infusion of light? Artist bio: Diane Walker is a wife, mother, actress and photographer who formerly served as Director of Communications for the Diocese of Olympia and as an instructor at the Diocesan School of Theology in Seattle. Now living on Bainbridge Island, Washington, Diane continues to pursue her photography, is a regular practitioner of Centering Prayer, and offers her photographs and meditations in a daily blog at contemplativephotography.com. |
