Artist Statement: It is natural to feel compassion for those we love when they are suffering. But when faced with people who intentionally inflict harm and cause others to suffer, we must dive deep within ourselves to practice open-hearted connection. This hard practice - to also love the suffering one who causes suffering - is the test of compassion for the long haul. Bio: Kathy is on staff at Trinity Church Wall Street in education and formation, where she enjoys leading comtemplative practice groups. She is an ordained interfaith minister and certified spiritual director. A member of ECVA for many years, Kathy's new favorite medium for celebrating God's constant communication is contemplative photography. |
