The Black Madonna

At Guadeloupe, Einsiedeln, Oropa, Czestochowa, Montserrat, and other places the image of the Black Madonna has attracted millions of devotees to the Virgin’s shrines. She represents pacha mama, our mother of the earth and all of its beings. The image represented here is original with the artist, although inspired by the Black Madonna of various shrines.
