Body of Christ

This work images the Body of Christ, both in the person of
Jesus and in the life and ministry of his followers, the
Church. The five panels progress (left to right) from
Incarnation, to Redemption, to Resurrection, to Empowerment,
to Commission.
The ribbon of water that runs through all pieces serves as a
reminder that baptism both draws us to Christ and propels us
out, by power of the Holy Spirit, to engage in ministry to and
with all the world.
This work was created from commercial cotton batik fabrics,
then embellished with machine stitching and paints.
