Jeanelle McCall

Renewed

Tapestry

Artist Statement:
Celebrant: Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?
People: I will, with God's help.

This piece of art was created to celebrate a beautifully varied group of women from St. Cyprians church in Lufkin, Texas. Our discussion table became a place where creativity and friendships were renewed, a place where we could follow our baptismal covenant as we serve in ministry together - we strive for justice and peace among our sisterhood and respect the dignity of each other. Using remnants of fabrics from these ladies past stories, I created this tapestry with love and honor to them.
