| Vaults of Norwich Photograph |
Artist Statement: Norwich Cathedral held me in thrall during a seminary pilgrimage to English sites of spiritual significance. The presence of the hermit Julian, the Cadbury chocolate vat that served as baptismal font in the nave, and these gorgeous vaults inspired me to photograph the beauty of holiness. My eye naturally gazed at the overpowering artistry of the cathedral vaults, sensing God drawing you further into the Holy Presence. Bio: Joyce Beaulieu serves as a rural priest in the Diocese of Chicago and photographs the natural world from a contemplative viewpoint. Photography provides her an outlet for expressing the awe of the world, especially when words fail. |
