| Theotokos, The Virgin of Passion Icon |
Artist Statement: Theotokos, The Virgin of Passion, was painted with the Old ikon technique. During the painting process, I pray daily to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance to paint the image of the Holy Mother and God’s Son. It was a most rewarding spiritual experience to see the painting come alive after applying the gold leaf on the halo. Bio: Janita Lo was born in China, educated in Australia and US. She received her BA at the University of Houston. Her watercolor art has been installed in many of her interior design projects, such as: Walt Disney World Resorts, the Hotel Galvez, UH Eye Institute and many private clients. Ms. Lo also receives many awards from her competitions and art exhibits from Houston and Austin. Ms. Lo lives in Austin, Texas. |
