Artist Statement: Photographic narration plays a role in my art; moreover, it is a strategic component in my printmaking process. The images I employ originate from my own photographs, as well as those from the archives of universities, libraries, and museums. My subjects include architecture, art history, ancient cultures, sacred geometry, folklore, mysticism, archaeology, cinema, and mythology. In my etching, I employ the studio techniques of intaglio, aquatint, drypoint, and Chine collè and frequently use multiple zinc plates for each etching to create a “window-like” image.
