Migration of the Soul-Homeward Bound

Collage/Acrylic/Found objects, Clay on Cradle board
10" x 10"

Artist Statement: I created this during the pandemic to symbolize being “set free” from our real or imagined boundaries. The image suggests transformation and a freedom of spirit, transcending our earthly restrictions to be released to migrate on ethereal wings accompanied by the strains of some half forgotten melody to find ourselves at our "heart home" again… safely where we started!

"My current focus, as an artist, is creating artwork that tells a story... drawing the viewer in to be a part of that story. Using my background in design, I weave a tapestry of layers, colors, shapes and objects to create symbolism or the nuance of a place and the feeling that invokes. I create art that is both familiar and intriguing, in which the viewer will recognize their own stories."
