Curator's Statement

It was a time like no other. None of us will ever forget the year of Quarantine 2020, as COVID ravaged the whole world, effects of climate change played its destructive game over our planet, and there was so much political unrest in our own country which caused both fear and broken relationships. We suffered with illness, with death of friends and family, and with loneliness and isolation.

But, I feel you will find solace in the works of the artists of ECVA as they turned to their art and to their faith to find hope in this time of darkness. We see broken pieces of mosaics and found objects fashioned into wholeness, photographs of the stillness of the earth, paintings of a new world of light and hope, and iconography that tells of a solid faith, now and through the ages, as we moved into a new world and a new way of life that would be forever changed.

And, so, we the artists of ECVA, offer through our art these prayers, known only to God, and offered in the silence of our hearts.
