Artist Statement: Sidney Sneed, of The Illuminators group at the Episcopal Church of St. Mary's, Phoenix, suggested that the symbols of the lamp, scroll and cross be integrated into the art. The lamp is the light of wisdom. We read the wisdom of the Scriptures. Both lead us to the cross representing Jesus, as the Alpha and Omega, and source of wisdom and truth. |
