Mungu's Birthday at Happy Wheels |
Artist Statement: Mungu age 8, our foster child from Sudan, had never had a birthday party. Friends and family all contributed to a roller skating afternoon complete with all the trimmings a boy could want. Mungu’s birth family attended, staff from his school, and friends from his new foster home community. God was present as the rag tag group skated to hip hop around the rink. bio: Erin McGee Ferrell “I am a fearless and passionate explorer of materials, seeking to alter environments and evoke transformation.” “I place big paintings on medical walls to distract patients from pain.” Erin McGee Ferrell creates large 2-D mixed media installations for Corporate and HealthCare Interior Spaces.
