The Bleak Midwinter |
Artist Statement: Suffering can be day after day of a bleak reality. Sometimes I need help finding the hope embedded in those dry days. My prayer is to recognize the help on the horizon and to embrace it. Bio: I began painting over thirty years ago when I moved to Eastern North Carolina from my native Iowa. In that time, I have studied painting with several internationally and nationally acclaimed artists that have influenced my work including Beverly McIver, Skip Lawrence, Alex Powers, and Judi Betts. I have been represented by several galleries including City Art Works, Clark Gallery, and Carolina Creations and my work has been featured in group and solo shows in Eastern North Carolina. My work has been purchased for private and corporate collections throughout the East Coast. I have been a participating member of ECVA for ten years and have been included in many online exhibitions during that time. |
