| Exalted Mercy |
Artist Statement: This contemporary Marian icon “Exalted Mercy” invites the viewer to consider the divine mystery of suffering, mercy and redemption. The intertwining of laurel and thorns in the border represent twin crowns, the crown of thorns and the crown of laurel representing the victory over our suffering that is available to each of us in God’s love and mercy. Bio: Kerri Jones, a fabric mosaicist, is a native of the Pacific Northwest. Her interest in mosaic art began while visiting historic sites in Greece and Turkey which later resulted in a creative collaboration of her interests in fabrics, apparel design and construction, historic costume, liturgical vestments and fine art. |
