Sometimes, the love-offering of beauty can be overlooked as a form of
service. The concentric circles, bright colors, intense concentration of
the artist, and dancing shadows from an overhanging tree gave me insight,
one sunny day, into the meaning of "pure gift." The Christ in
him touched the Christ in me— and he never looked up from his work.
