The Cosmic Christ with Birds

In the spirit of seeking and serving Christ in all of God's creation, my painting "The Cosmic Christ with Birds" depicts the winged ones in Christ's protecting presence. Included are the Purple Gallinule and the Great Blue Heron who thrive in the wetlands of Louisiana now impacted by the Gulf oil spill. The Scarlet Macaw, also shown, is native to the vanishing rainforests of Central and South America.

Jesus tells us in Luke12:6 that not one sparrow is forgotten of God. In how many ways, by what we have done and by what we have left undone, have we forgotten and forsaken them and the God who gives himself to us through all of creation?
