The Dove of the Holy Spirit

In Luke it is written, “the heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form as a dove.” How these words flooded upon me at the baptism of my granddaughter on the Sunday commemorating the Baptism of our Lord Christ.

There is nothing more renewing than baptism, a gift of God available to each of us. I know that God is at work in this child, her brother, their parents and godparents, because I can see its happening, as I recognize that He is making me new every day to His love. My return each day to my studio brings me in communion with God as He guides me in my visual expression.

"The Dove of the Holy Spirit" is my declared recognition of God’s presence in me. The Dove is a reminder that I may always return, even if I should wander.
