The Annunciation A teenaged Blessed Mary is approached by a manly Angel Gabriel, whose visitation separates her from the life she has known. Their deep conversation makes them oblivious of the hustle and bustle of normal daily activities that everyone else is involved in, causing them to focus only on each other, in a cool oasis of the message. As he makes his announcement, she is surprised at her selection, and points back to herself to be sure. The shadow of the Annunciation Blessing crosses from his fingers to her belly, causing it to glow in anticipation of the Child she is to bear, proving her choice. In her childlike trust and acceptance of her call, she is unaware of the harsh reality and consequences that will painfully assault her from this point on because she said "Yes." |
