Life’s Flow
Mosaic "Life’s Flow” poured out during a mosaic and art meditation workshop. There was no preplanning, no sketching out designs, and the available materials were what happened to be on the table in front of us. It wasn’t completed until months later when I was able to approach the unfinished piece with a similar sense of contemplation and reflection. It seemed that all the chaos was swirling around me, but growth came out of that quiet space within me, despite the noise outside. Through mosaics I link my art to my faith – expressing awe at creation and the Creator – whether an abstract landscape, sculpture, or liturgical mosaic. When possible I reinvent scrap glass or discarded items from our “throw-away” society into sacred art formed in prayer. |
