The Puzzle of Life
Enamel on Copper

This enamel on copper symbolizes stages of life’s journey. The trip is universal, but the way the viewer interprets it is personal.

The upper left panel symbolizes coping, facing sorrows, changes, maturing, nurturing..  Green connotes growth and change.

The upper right is the juggler, connoting the balancing act of life and the responsibilities involved.  With God, all things are possible.  Red indicates activity, living and learning.

Lower left is a sacramental vessel, with gifts to share for all God’s people.  Orange connotes mystery of the choices one has to make in using the gifts, receiving grace.

Lower right is a white dove, symbolizing tranquility when in the hands of God.  The serpent below symbolizes prayers. Ancient Indians used serpents in incised petroglyphs to ask God for rain.
