The
Blessing of the Hands
Every
year on the Tuesday of Holy Week, the clergy of the Dioceses of Los
Angeles gather with our bishops for the renewal of our ordination vows.
It is a sacred time during which our hands are blessed to carry out the
many sacramental functions we perform; our hands transfigure into the
sacred vessels through which grace is shared and imparted. These are the
hands that break the bread and lift the cup, these are the hands that pour
the waters of baptism and anoint, these are the hands of God at work in
