Artist Statement: Christ died to save sinners- yesterday, today and tomorrow. He can give life to everyone, even those imprisoned internally and externally. Thanks be to God.

Bio: Jack Pachuta is a contemporary iconographer whose icons depict the Face of Jesus, the Crucifixion, scenes from the life of Jesus, Mary, and both saints and angels in modern settings. They are inspired by medieval Russian, Slavic and folk icons, and Romanesque frescoes.

His icons can be seen in Roman Catholic, Byzantine Rite Catholic, Episcopalian and Lutheran churches, chapels, retreat centers and seminaries in North America, Mexico, Central America and Europe. An icon entitled “Mary, Mother of Captives” is enshrined in the healing garden of St. Augustine Church in Philadelphia, Pa. An icon of the “Face of Jesus” is enshrined in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of St. Augustine Church at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fa. “Christ Emmanuel” and another icon “Face Not Made with Human Hands” are both in the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Jack’s icons, many in the private collections of the religious, of laity, friends and relatives, are available as original paintings, icon prints on wooden boards and prayer cards.
