Psalm 92

Artist Statement: The painting of this tree symbolizes for me older Christians who witness their continuing faith (green leaves) even though they have been wounded and scarred through living in our world today. Life isn’t easy but they continue steadfastly through the seasons of life. In our world today where we give up easily and want everything now what a witness our older fellow travelers are to those following behind. So often the older generation is overlooked and ignored and considered irrelevant in the witnessing community today – yet what an example of faith and encouragement they still bring if we only stop to look, observe, and listen.

Bio: I began taking art classes in 1995 while living in Clayton, N.C., starting with drawing and colored pencil and experimented with watercolors, pastels, and acrylics, before settling on water-soluble oils. For 20 years, until recently, I painted with fellow women artists who encouraged and critiqued my work.

I have exhibited in the Clayton, Raleigh and Wilmington, N.C. areas. I am married with two adult children, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter, who support and encourage me as an artist.
