Artist's Statement: I've been reading W.H. Auden's For the Time Being: A Christmas Oratorio, and thinking about how we discern the right actions to take as Christians. Especially during this season after a tumultuous U.S. election, I feel called to some action, but don't know what it should be. I know that I, a white man, am called to do something at the bidding of black and brown people, that it’s their voice and their spirit that sounds the call. My hope is that I may act with prudence, sweetness, might and wisdom. My fear is that I won't act at all.
