When drawing this, I kept thinking about desperation, hopelessness, and destruction so I drew it on a light, bright watercolor background focusing on “the light at the end of the tunnel” and/or “the best is yet to come.” Metaphors come quickly to me melding together the culture of our day with the word of the past.
