They Have Washed Their Robes and Made Them Clean by the Blood of the Lamb
(All Saints Day)

by Mary Anne Carley
Watercolor, 2006, 8" x 10"

When I was a senior in High School the art teacher asked me to paint the following line from a poem (title and author forgotten) “The Earth Washed Clean by  Wind and Rain.”  I did so and for some reason when ever I read or hear the quoted phrase from Revelations, I remember the moment I painted that painting with the wind and rain blowing around leaving everything bright and brilliant as are the robes here.  All is forgiven; all is clean.
