I Will Persist

I am always trying to do more with less. We most often think of doing more with less in material terms... how to stretch a budget, get more use out of a sofa, buy economy-sized boxes, etc. Sometimes we need to realize we can also do more with less on a spiritual level. Civil disobedience is, in my mind, the best example of the challenge to do more with less. However often we feel compelled to lift our clubs, swing a bat or ride down the opposition, we recognize there is greater strength in resistance and perseverance.

This painting is an interior painting. We must see the resolve, the determination, the active persistence exhibited in his posture. He is looking into the future with shut eyes and we are encouraged to go there too. But we will not have the strength on our own.  We can only do this with God's help.
