A Cross to Bear

by Ricardo J. Beruvides
(Painting, 2005)

This work was done as a donation for Christ Episcopal Church. This work represents my desire to express a deep gratitude for the Community that has helped me “Grow” in Christ. My desire to do more than just attend Sunday service has brought me closer to Christ Episcopal Church and it’s community. I wanted to express my feelings and love for Christ through my art. My first work was accomplished by creating a couple of wall murals for the Church nursery followed by the Advent Cross (artwork submitted separately by Ms. Lois Chapman).

This painting represents His everlasting love for us, and the cross He had to bear for our sins. It also shows that He continues to grow in our hearts and helps us grow by His Grace. I know I have grown to be a better Christian and this piece of art completed with His love in my heart has helped me grow in love, in peace, in gratitude and in my community. All this, thanks to His love.
