I believe the art pieces I am submitting are reflections of the reality of the 'Love Astounding' of God in the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. God came to be with us, Emmanuel, in a particular time and place. God learned what it was to be human in a particular time and place, the First Century Mediterranean world during the height of the Roman Empire. My images are of Romans who lived during this period of history and of their Gods.

These are the people who were first evangelized to by the apostles. They are the Gentiles who grew the first churches. They are the first people to respond to the "Love Astounding" of God. The result: a Way that caught the fire of the Holy Spirit and spread like none other.

These are hand cut marble mosaics made in the ancient Roman style typically found in homes and public venues through out the early Christian world.
