Celtic Worship

Monotype, and some mixed media, 22x30, on Rives BFK paper

Artist Statement: This work is part of a series of prints I created this summer. Partly due to my interest in my Celtic heritage, and also because I have always been so drawn to the Celtic prayers that are part of our worship. I truly enjoy the Scottish liturgy of our Episcopalian church, and have always been drawn o Celtic crosses.

I think that many God stories could be told. But my own story is somehow wrapped up in and weaved in and through this part of our history and worship. And I find that fascinating. I am also moved by the majesty of God that I feel close to in nature. And especially, in Scotland.

bio: I am a life long artist and maker. I currently teach High School Art at Connally ISD in Waco, Texas. I am working towards my Masters in Art Education and am hoping to someday work and live in Scotland.
