Beneath the Cross

A man with no home finds repose outside the doors of a church. His quiet vigil against the wall of the sanctuary reminds us of the Psalmist¹s prayer, "One thing have I asked of the LORD; one thing I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life." (Psalm 27:5).

How does his presence on the outside remind us of the ways we shut the door on our Lord,
keeping him away from the private sanctuaries of our lives?
